Turkish Miners Association (TMD) is getting prepared to make a significant contribution from its part to efforts aiming to improve Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the mining industry. TMD will be organizing the third edition of the International Conference and Exhibition on Occupational Health and Safety in Mines on December 1st to 4th, 2018 , on the week of “International Miner’s Day”. The conference will address the problems and possible solutions in OHS and try to create a ‘Road Map for Safe Mining”.

The 1st and the 3rd Conference created a forum for discussion where experts from Turkey as from U.S.A., Australia, Canada, China, South Africa  discussed the occupational health issues/problems and possible solutions in the mining industry. The conference also addresses country-specific examples, sectoral policies, technical developments as well as the human factor and training in the development of OHS culture; and David Reece, a globally-renowned risk-management expert in the mining, delivered a course on ‘Operational Risk Management in the Global Mining Industry’.

The upcoming 3rd edition of this international conference and exhibition, with a short course on Longwall Mine Design Considerations and a workshop on Mining Risk Management by international experts will be held during December the 1st to 4th, 2018 at İstanbul Hilton Convention Center.
