2026 Paris Peace Forum

Euromines Director General Rolf Kuby will participate in the 2026 Paris Peace Forum on 11 November 2026, joining a high-level roundtable entitled “From the Ground Up: Can Local Conditions De-Risk Mining Investment?”

Taking place from 16:15 to 17:15 CET in Roundtable 1 – Musée de la Marine, the discussion will explore how responsible financing, fair risk-sharing and effective de-risking can help mobilise investment in the mining sector while addressing financial, political, social and environmental challenges.

As demand for minerals continues to grow, attracting the investment needed to develop responsible mining projects will require more than financial guarantees. The roundtable will examine how stronger environmental and social safeguards, human rights, community participation, benefit-sharing and local value creation can contribute to projects that are both bankable and sustainable over the long term.

Bringing together perspectives from industry, investors, civil society and producing countries, the discussion will explore how financing models can move beyond investor protection towards locally anchored partnerships that support responsible mining and long-term industrial cooperation.
