Euromines will host a EU Green Week 2026 partner webinar, “From Land Use to Land Renewal: The Mining Sector’s Role in Nature Restoration”, on 12 June, 2026 at 10:00-12:30 CEST, livestreamed here on LinkedIn and YouTube.
The webinar will showcase real-world examples of nature restoration led by the European mining sector, highlighting how former mining sites can be transformed into safe, stable, and environmentally valuable landscapes.
Through three case studies from our members in Spain (Atalaya Mining), Sweden (Boliden), and Greece (Eldorado Gold – Hellas Gold), speakers will present innovative restoration approaches including geomorphic landscape redesign, river and habitat restoration, rehabilitation of legacy mining areas, and large-scale revegetation using native plant species.
