SUSTAINABLE MINING INITIATIVE
About the initiative
The Sustainable Mining Initiative is born out of the need to communicate our member’s sustainability achievements and implementations in their daily operations.
Here we share their best practices, in the following categories: circular economy, nature restoration, decarbonisation and community.
Circular Economy
With this model of production and consumption, the products are shared, reused, repaired and recycled for as long as possible. Therefore, the life cycle of products is extended as much as possible and there’s minimum waste once they reach their end of life.
Nature Restoration
We restore ecosystems, especially the ones impacted by the mining industry, and to implement new technologies and ways of working that minimises these impacts to the minimum.
Decarbonisation
With this model of production and consumption, the products are shared, reused, repaired and recycled for as long as possible. Therefore, the life cycle of products is extended as much as possible and there’s minimum waste once they reach their end of life.
Community
Our members are part of the communities of their operations. It’s part of our mission to keep creating valued and trustful relationships with the ones living in the areas we are present.
