From Bottlenecks to Breakthroughs: Rethinking Industrial Permitting for a Competitive & Climate-Neutral Europe
Euromines will participate in the first European Permitting Conference, taking place on 8 September 2026 in Brussels, bringing together representatives from EU institutions, Member States, permitting authorities and industry to discuss how Europe can accelerate permitting for strategic industrial and energy projects.
Rolf Kuby, Director General of Euromines, will moderate an interactive panel on practical solutions to streamline permitting and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness, energy security and industrial resilience.
Why is permitting critical for Europe's competitiveness?
Efficient permitting is essential to delivering the projects that support Europe’s energy transition, industrial competitiveness, decarbonisation and security of supply. Across the EU, lengthy and complex permitting procedures continue to delay investments in critical raw materials, renewable energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and industrial infrastructure.
