DG GROW received more than 60 applications from private organisations for the High-Level Steering Group and more than 150 for the Operational Groups.

Council conclusions on a future EU industrial policy strategy

On 29 May, European Council unanimously agreed on the Council Conclusions proposed by the Maltese Presidency. Industry Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska stated in a press conference: “We all agreed on some key horizontal actions to be taken. We also agreed that we need some sectoral focus where it’s necessary” and concluded: “we are now much stronger equipped for the future discussions on the coherent unified industrial policy document in the European Commission”.

Battery Electric Vehicles Underground Guideline Successfully Published by GMSG and CMIC

Euromines publication "Natura 2000: A Guide to the Guide" is now available in Spanish

The purpose of the European Commission Guidance on Non-energy mineral extraction and Natura 2000 is to address issues for which the European Commission is responsible. However, the extractive industry has its own guidelines on how to prevent the loss of biodiversity in all areas of operation, some of which go beyond, but do not specifically address, particular requirements of the EU Nature Directives.
