Euromines supports the Paris Agreement and the EU climate target of net-zero emissions by 2050. To reach this goal, sustainable and resilient European value chains are necessary, firmly based on sustainable raw materials. To promote fair and sustainable development Euromines members support the EU principles for sustainable raw materials supply (published on 6th September 2021).

Zinc with a low climate footprint becomes a reality

Euromines congratulates its member company Boliden which has started sales of zinc with a low climate footprint. The new product emits less than 1 tonne of carbon dioxide emissions per tonne of zinc, compared with the industry average of 2.5 tonnes. Low carbon zinc will stand for 18 percent of Boliden's total zinc production.

Rising Energy Prices: Euromines takes action

In light of the continuously high energy prices on the electricity and gas markets, Euromines sent a letter to the presidents of the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament as well as the Director of the EU Agency of Energy Regulators (ACER).
